This is what is being heard at different locations from people who have been suddenly caught up in the torrential rains and massive floods in Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts. On the 4th day of the flood the rescue operations continue and relief is trickling in slowly. While water has receded in Chiplun, Kolhapur and Sangli are still marooned and fear of increase of water levels is looming. The water levels are continuously being compared to the recent devastating floods of 2019 and 2005. In Satara district, particularly in Patan taluka and Ambeghar, Devrukh villages the landslides have both destroyed lives and all belongings of the entire villages. Not only stocks even the standing crops in over 1.1 lac hectares are reported to be destroyed. Small villages like Jore is still not accessible. The roads are mostly washed away and the current in the rivers too strong to cross. People have lost houses completely and need support of shelter.

HCNF together with CYDA and other local partners have already reached ready to eat dry food, dry ration, clothes, hygiene kits and other essentials in cooperation with the district authorities. The destruction is massive. The losses of the people, particularly the landless and the marginal farmers is irreparable. They need your support. HCNF thanks all of you who have already donated and await generous donations from everyone else.
